My first week in review

I was going to do my week in review sometime tomorrow, but life has been unexpectedly tiring.

I started work this Monday...and let's see what has happened in these last few days...

Tire troubles:
Monday: My atire pressure light comes on...I put air in my tires
Tuesday: Light comes on again...put air in all 4 tires
Wednesday: More light...more air
Thursday: More light...decided it was either a slow leak or broken light. Go to dealership to find out there is a nail in my back tire...call friend to get tired fixed.

Work schedule:
Monday: Get to work at 7:45am for training
Tuesday: Get to work at 7:30am to clean and organize my desk before the real work begins
Wednesday: Get to work by 7:15am for 7:30am meeting
Thursday: Get to work by 6:45am to shadow someone
Friday: Goal is to be at work between 6-6:30am to cover for someone
...hmm, I'm seeing a trend.

Sleep schedule:
Monday-Thursday: in bed by 9pm, lights out by 10pm

Fun times:
Tuesday: hip-hop class from 7-8:30pm

Conclusion: the life of an adult sucks. You're tired all the time, have car problems that you have no time to fix, have to go to bed eary, get up earlier, and have one night of fun a week.

Side note: although adulthood sucks, the job is pretty cool.

night

It's 11pm and I can't seem to fall asleep. My body and mind are tired, yet I am unable to sleep. I think it is because I finally start work tomorrow. Yes, after 4 months off I have decided to take the road much traveled and become a working adult. No more daytime soaps, no more mid-morning naps, and no more daytime shopping trips. Instead I will work a 40 hour job where I get to work my way up to middle management and from a cube farm to an office with a door. I hope to someday work in an office with a window, then my dreams will be complete. Who needs a man or a family when they have a window in their office? I have heard that all the happy people in the world have a window in their office. I can only hope to have one soon.

P.S. I think my road to adulthood looks promising. Already, I have had the dubious title of Yogurt Fairy, I hope I can become good enough to earn another awesome title.

P.P.S. Never play Spider Solitare late at night, it's very addicting.

Repairmen

I bought a grill the other day and the little thermometer on the grill didn't work. No big deal. I talked to the guys at Sears and they were kind enough to send out a repairman to look at the problem today. The lady on the phone told me that the repairman would be by sometime between 8-12. Again no big deal. She also told me that I will get a reminder call the night before. Call recieved, step one done. Finally, she told me that someone will call prior to coming to my house to make sure that the appointment is kept. If no one answers, then the repairman will assume no one is home and I have to reschedule. Kind of makes sense, so whatever.

I get up this morning at 7:30 and decided to do some cleaning. Well, I decided to clean, then shower seeing as how I might work up a sweat during cleaning or lose motivation after the shower. So I get done with all my stuff at around 9. Now I want to shower. But the repairman hasn't called. So I take the phone into the shower with me and put the face of the phone towards me so that I can look at it every few minutes to make sure that I haven't missed a call. Shower done, still no call. Then I decided to clean some things up in the garage. So I take my phone with me. Cleaning done, still no call. Then I decided to vacuum and stuck the phone in my back "pocket". Vacuuming done, still no call. It is now 11am and I still have not received a call. In the meantime, however, I have become so paranoid that I will miss the repairman's call that the phone is no more than 6inches away from me at all times. I really hate repairmen, they know that they have control of time and my schedule for 4 hours today and they are using it to their full advantage. I am shaking my fist at them and silently cursing my willingness to give into their sick controlling ways. Blah.

The Joshua Project

Since my life is pretty lame at the moment, I've decided to post the link to one of my favorite websites to wander around on. The Joshua Project is a website that posts statistics and facts on the least reached people groups in the world. The website is meant to inform, educate (as opposed to those that always are trying to sell Christians something or another) and bring people to prayer for the least reached people groups.
I like this website because it has easy to read charts and graphs, gives easy to read information about the people groups (and the information doesn't overload my teeny-tiny mind) and is a good reminder of the gap that is still out there between the reached and the unreached. Anyways, it's a good website to putz around on and learn and pray for things we don't always think about.
